Marche (Mar-shay) is a French word which stands for market. In Malaysia especially KL, people will think of the creative, colorful and innovative restaurant concept developed by the Swiss-based Mövenpick Group at the Curve when you mentioned Marche.

nY and raY had the chance to have a ‘visit’ to this famous eatery on Friday night after our HEAVY gym session @ True Fitness. Feeling extremely exhausted and hungry, we’ve decided to feed our stomach with some GENG food.

You can see ngau ngau (bull) head at the entrance. The concept of the restaurant is totally different from ordinary eateries. Before we entered the “market”, we are required to take a ‘market passport’. The food counter will stamp the items selected on the passport and finally we have to settle with the cashier as we leave the restaurant.

It is set in a traditional European marketplace where diners roam around different food huts, chat with the staff and freely select whatever appeals to their palate. A variety of food such as pastrys, pizzas, waffles, ice creams, steaks, desserts, beverages, HOTDOGS and etc. can be found at the cute little huts. Some of the chefs are the angmohs that speak slangy English. The diners are from all jack of life but usually dominated by those white collar workers that love to enjoy life. The prices are a bit inexpensive but still affordable if you "tie your stomach' (ikat perut) for few days. :D

Marché is a treat for all senses! The motto – “Eat in a colorful market-place atmosphere” – is certainly meant to be taken literally in Mövenpick Marché restaurants. It's a must to dine in this place oh!
