Japanese fine-dining@ Yokotaya, Metro Perdana

Leave your Comment »
Despite the recent disaster which happened in Japan, Japanese restaurant is still the all-time favourite of my family members. Even the old grandma also adores cooked Japanese food so much that we usually have our gathering at one of the traditional Japanese fine-dining restaurants, Yokotaya at Metro Perdana.

What so special about this restaurant until my anti-foreign-food popo also like it?

#1 The taste

The first in the list is definitely the taste of the food. Unlike Sushi Zanmai, Rakuzen, etc, the Japanese cuisine which is served in Yokotaya is unique. The food served is the fusion of some of the local delights and the traditional Japanese recipe. The outcome is superb. Besides, the sashimi in Yokotaya is definitely fresh and very enjoyable, that alone is enough to make you a joyful person. It definitely worth the price you pay for. Yokotaya is the best as it offers a variety of choices for a variety of needs.

You feel tempted by just looking at the rice, right?

#2 The design and atmosphere of the restaurant

Not to exaggerate, Yokotaya is absolutely one of the best places for fine dining after the hectic working day. It is apparent that the owner of the restaurant had put a lot of effort and time in designing the interior to make the customers feel homely. The interior of the restaurant is quite appealing. It’s a modern restaurant with cosy ambiance, wooden tables and chairs, dim lights, and with few tatami-style seating. The most outstanding part is the rows of empty sake bottles lined on the shelves on the wall. There is a VIP room for private function too. It’s a place highly recommended for the all occasions.

Popo was enjoying the design of the empty sake bottles

#3 The service

Just like the Japanese, the staffs in Yokotaya are friendly and polite. Their hospitality makes you feel like you are the king and queen of the day; even you had a bad day in work/school. The main chef is always shy and quiet as he is a Nihonjin, while the Malaysian lady boss (ma leng leng cousin) is very friendly. I assure that you will have a pleasant experience dining in Yokotaya. Not to mention the handsome servicing manager, Josa, a polite and responsive staff.

Obssessed with Japanese Food - Jyuraku, SS15

Leave your Comment »

I was in paper mode since 2 weeks ago. I did nothing but writing paper and chasing date line (even during MERDEKA). Wa tarak merdeka!

Life was so dull. Food was tasteless and the sky was grey.
mr. smiley said he would give me a surprise during the weekend. He said he would bring me to eat something which is really exclusive.

The sky turned colorful when we went for the bloody fish-movie(piranha) with mr. KFC (the guy who likes to wear the T-shirt "WHO KILLED YOUR DAD" Any idea?). After the movie, we dropped in Jyuraku, SS15 for dinner.

It's the GENG place that mr. smiley mentioned. It's located right beside its competitor, Rakuzen. Both the japanese restaurant have their own valet parking. mr. smiley told me that the owner of Jyuraku was previously the head chef in Rakuzen. Then, he quitted Rakuzen and set up his own Japanese Restaurant which is named Jyuraku. The design of the restaurant and the menu look similar too.
The chop stick cover is cute because it's in PINK!

We started with the appetizer, mash potatoes. Out of no where, it just appeared on my table. MAGIC!
It's FOC and it tastes so good and smooth.

Out of the blue, the waitress sent me THIS. It looks eerie but it should taste delicious. I did not order it but I snap a photo before I handed it back to the waitress. *evil* It's one of the signatures of the restaurant. It's a dish with raw squid with lemon. I noticed many aunties ladies like to order this appetizer.

Unlike ordinary Japanese restaurant, the waitress in this restaurant speak Cantonese. Some of them are aunties level but they can speak very fluent in Japanese with the chef! Amazing!

The service is darn good. I say so because the food and drinks always appear silently on the table without I noticing it.

It's the Kani (Crab Stick) Salada
A dish not-to-be-missed in Jyuraku

I ordered Sake ButterSauce Fish for myself. The salmon fish is cooked with onion and butter sauce. Yum yum!

Sake Butter Fish - RM28 /set
Fish, fish, fish! I want to eat PIRAHNA !

mr. smiley got himself hana dont-know-what don RM38/set
It's a big portion. It can be shared by 2 small eaters.
The sashimi on the bowl is fresh and CHEWY!

mr. KFC ordered the temaki set. Look at the fat salmon belly! Saliva is dripping already...

Wonder who is mr. KFC?

He is the one beside mr. smiley. He loves KFC so much! He can't live without KFC. KF-Fong --> KFC

exhausted nYnY and mr. smiley

Life's good with good food! I love glorious food!

We are planning for another Japanese food outing either at Tao (Sunway Giza) or Kura (One U) during Raya.
Siapa mau join?

nyny and fredfred out to Town (Ichiban Boshi)

nYnY is on diet lately. Therefore, she dares not to eat oily food.

Japanese is one of the food that contains less oil compare to other cuisines. So, nyny and fredfred went to Pavilion to hunt for some delicious Japanese delicacies to cure their hungry stomach.

They went to nyny's favourite restaurant, Ichiban Boshi (opposite food republic) for their Sashimi dinner.

Ichiban Boshi, I'm loving it!

W
e strolled along Jalan Bukit Bintang after the meal to burn off some extra calories. We were astonished by a 'Golden Man' (full with gold dust), who stood stationary in front of the Steven Tea Garden @ Jalan Bukit Bintang.

He is a real man. He would offer to take photos with you if you pay him for his 'performance'.
