ExcuseMeExcuseMe
Sound familiar to you?
I learnt this phrase in Singapore during my last trip. I can bet none of the Singaporeans do not know the meaning of this phrase in Singapore (unless they dunno English).
The tiny lil kids, the adults or even the old ah gong ah ma in Singapore like to use this phrase especially at escalators, MRT stations and lifts.
The most unforgettable incident was an auntie shouted 'Excuse....Me!!!' 1 minute before the gate of the lift opened. OMG! The lift was at 1st floor at that moment and she intended to go to ground floor. KNS!
I was like :O when I saw that.
EXCUSEME EXCUSEME! Everyone rushed to the gate even before the passengers disembark the MRT. KS betul! Satu mau masuk, satu mau keluar! Masuk mia PUSH, keluar mia pun PUSH jugak! Apa macam ni? An old ah ma was being hit by the auto-gate when she tried to enter the train. The rest do not want to go to the empty spaces but stay near the gate. No mercy, kepit saja. KEPIT!
You can hear them apologizing the whole time. Morning till night. “Excuus”, “Scuss”, “Escuss Eh” or all of them in a volume increasing row.
nY beh tahan...
For tourists who never experience that, they may assume that 'they' are a very polite and friendly community.
What do you say? It's depends on individuals' opinion.

HAHAHAHHAHA!!!
Really??? That's so funny! And I thought they said S'poreans are a polite and "like to queue up" lot.
LOL, so kiasu/kiasi 1.
I have never been to Singapore yet, let me observe this when I go there on this 15th!! :P
@Xweing Yes Yes! U go see see urself! I no cheat u one! :P Don't play play!
At least they say Excuse me. You try to come Korea where they just bang you and not apologizing at all. Koreans do not have the cultural to apologize or say anything when they walked pass your side and accidentally hit you.
