I cannot fly anymore BUT I need to fly next month to attend my ji mui's ROM ( registration of marriage) in Singapore.
The period to expiry is less than 6 months, therefore I cannot go oversea now. X(
What to do? I have to spend half a day at the immigration.
After nY googled for few hours, I realized that many Internet respondents claimed that the service in Immigration Department @ Pusat Bandar Damansara was effective and good.
nY was so happy when I saw the sign board!To renew your Malaysia passport, you do not need to go to the counter like your first application.
You just need to find the KIPPAS (KIos Penggantian PAsport ExpreS). It is located near Block E ( follow the staircase down) and you will see the immigration department.

Sign board to KIPPAS.To renew your passport, you have to bring :
1) one passport-size photo ( you can get it on the spot at the camera shop beside the immigration)
2) a photocopy of your MyKad ( you can photocopy yours at the shop beside immigration too)
3) old passport
4) your thumb for verification
5) cash : RM300 for 32 pages
RM600 for 64 pages

Entrance of KIPPAS @ the ground floor
After you go into KIPPAS hall, you will see the guidelines on KIPPAS.Steps :
1) Take an envelope from the counter
2) Fill up your name, I.C. number and contact number on the envelope
3) Proceed to the KIPPAS machine
4) Touch the screen and follow the instructions displayed on the screen
5) Just insert the notes after you have done with all the verifications6) Get the receipt and roam around for 2 hours before the passport collection
After 2 hours...
7) Take the escalator to first floor and take your number @ counter 17
8) Wait for your turn
9) Get your passport and pay RM2 if you want to purchase the passport cover
That was my first time to Pusat Bandar Damansara!
For those who want to apply/ renew passport, you may bring along your laptop/ pda for Internet surfing else you will be bored until ceemagan like nY! I took my electronics notes and studied at the mamak! People thought I'm student from HELP. XD
It's darn HOT and HUMID during the lunch time!
Oh ya.. The immigration department is opened from 730am till 530pm on weekdays and 730am till 1pm on weekends.
It took me 2 hours and 15 minutes (verification, payment, passport getting ready and collection) to get the passport.
Yeah! nY got new passport! Singapore and Taipei, here I come!

Hmmm that's fast. Subang airport always takes about two days to renew passport ><.
Hong Aun: I heard that the process in Subang also quite fast now.. Can be settled within few hours.. sometimes depends on your luck too.
So simple yah..
