daY 2 (6th July) - Madrid to Pamplona
On day 2, we had to wake up early in the morning to catch up a train to Pamplona through Atocha Station. By 7a.m., we already eaten our breakfast at Hotel Agumar, Madrid. Their breakfast is totally different with breakfast in Malaysia . In Malaysia, we normally have sausages, beans, eggs and maybe ciplak fried rice/meehoon. In Madrid, they serve big mushrooms( size of our palm) , omelette, bacons, smoked salmon, Croissants, salads ( cherries, pineapples, peaches!! ), yogurt and different kinds of pudding. It's just like the menu for high-tea in the prestigious hotels.
Mum was very satisfied with the breakfast, especially the big big mushrooms. :P
After that, we rushed to Atocha to catch the train.
The stations were fulled with Spanish but none of them speak English. I had an e-ticket but I didn't know how to proceed to get the ticket. Moreover, I do not know Spanish at all!
So, we went to the customer service counter, with the hope that we could get some assistance there. UNFORTUNATELY, the receptionists there also do not understand English. We were just like "Chicken talks to Ducks"!!! The receptionist wanted to tell me to get the ticket from the machine but she couldn't speak English. In the end, she pin-pointed to the numbers printed on my e-ticket and then said " Maa shin, dik dik dik.... tic kat ". TERUK LAH MACAM TU!!! Apa dia cakap??!!
In fact, she wanted us to get the printed ticket from the machine by keying in our serial number of the receipt. *Swt*
Day 2 was mainly on city tour. We had to oik early that night too because we need to wake up early to watch the opening ceremony of San Fermin (Pamplona Bull Run) the next day.
nYnYpedia:The Running of the Bulls (in Spanish encierro, from encerrar, to shut in, to lock up - entzierro) is a practice that involves running in front of ngau ngau that have been let loose on a course of a sectioned-off subset of a town's streets. The most famous running of the ngau ngaus is that of the nine-day festival of San Fermín in Pamplona, although they are held in towns and villages across Spain during the fiesta season, usually in the run-up to the corrida, or bullfight, and in some cities in southern France, most notably Bayonne. Unlike bullfights, which are performed by professionals, anyone may participate in an encierro.
nY didn't dare to join the GAME, takut kena cucuk by the horn horn. I think I will travel to Pamplona again one day to run with the ngau ngau!
