It was a cozy and chilly morning. It's indeed a perfect weather to continue sleeping.

However, I had to drag myself out from the bed as I had to attend a lab supervision that morning.

I was half-awake when I drove to campus that day. What to do? I was assigned duty to supervise the replacement lab (as always) since I'm the most junior in my university.

Kena bully tapi diam-diam lor... Earn money manyak ka-nan ah!

Bad thing was...60 students turned up instead of the usual 30 that morning. Meanwhile, I was informed that my partner would be late to the lab because she was overslept.

Makan sendiri saja lo.. No choice!

Fine.. I tried my best to debug students' circuit and evaluate them on the spot, all by myself...

Miss, miss, miss... I cannot do.. miss, my LED doesn't light on... miss, help me.. miss, I smell something burning..!!! miss, I want to go to toilet...

KNS! I was so frustrated hearing people calling me 'MISS' that day. Kepala dah pening, panggil saya miss miss miss lagi! PIFF!

I noticed that there was a bunch of mischievous monkeys sitting at the front part of the lab. The reason why I recognized them is because those 'G-O-O-D' students always face book-ing and looking at sexy photos during my programming classes in last semester. They got nothing good, they just knew how to beg tutor to debug their code or add more marks to their in-lab assignment.

Like what I did in last semester, I helped them to troubleshoot their circuit. After putting in and pulling off a few jumper wires, the LED were on.

You know what?

The BIG GHOST HEAD of the gang stood up and hold both my hands in front of everyone! While keep saying thanks, he hold my hands so tightly IN FRONT OF SO MANY STUDENTS!

Honestly speaking, I think I had stopped breathing for at least 3 seconds when he hold my cold hands. My eyes became big and wide opened.

My soul went round the world and returned to that lab. Well, his action really made me awake...

I was a bit soh soh dei after that. My lab partner was late for 2 hours. Again, she thanked me by hugging me in front of the students TWICE!

I experienced extreme culture-shock. I had no idea why these happened to me on that day. Perhaps, my peach blossom luck was freaking bad in that morning.

Aih.. the worst day in year 2011. I'm sincerely hoping that a handsome student who looks like Lee Min Ho instead of those naughty boys will thank me by hugging me next time.

At least, I don't feel bad being harassed.

Phuket is an island filled with excitement, night life, intoxication, pretty chics, beautiful 'toots' (lady-boys) and of course the mouth-watering Thai food.

It's the heaven for hamsup people too. :D (You know, I know lar)

Even a 3-stars boutique hotel like Seeka decorates their room interior with love. You will fall in love even you are traveling alone. *hmmm macam dah exaggerate*

In phuket, you will notice many 'farangs' like to travel to the island alone and get a pretty 'chic' (dunno lady or lady-boy) as companion during their vacation. It's common there!

Let's have a look on our hotel.

The Seeka Boutique Resort Hotel that we stayed in is decorated in a traditional Thai style. The interior gleams with lots of sculptures and reliefs, natural wood furnishings, creating a warm and welcoming boutique atmosphere.

The shower area is clean too. nY likes the design on the wall.
The bath room smells weird when we first entered the room. However, the odour is gone after we used it for several times.

We had a simple breakfast at the hotel restaurant before our day tour to Phuket.

The first station is Karon View Point (it is previously known as Kata View Point) . Phuket has many viewpoints, some without names, some with, and the best known and most popular is the"Karon Viewpoint". You will see 3 beaches from there and the scenery is indeed superb.

We stopped by a while to take some photos and proceeded to the next station, Wat Chalang.

After visiting all tourist spots, the tour guide brought us to the shopping outlets.

We were brought to cashew nuts factory to see how people process the cashew nut from the cashew fruits. I just knew there is only a nut from each cashew fruit. Nowadays, people make juice from the cashew fruits too. How creative!

I did not understand why the tour driver like to bring tourists to those ~~germs~~ gems factory, t-shirt factory and etc... nyny's wallet is thin and slim after visiting all the outlets.. keke

The most anticipated activity in a day is MAKAN. It's already late when we reached the hotel. Without hesitating, mr. smiley and I rushed to the nearest local stall to cure our stomach. We went to a stall called Hai Food near Hotel Baumanburi.

Then, we strolled around Junceylon and Bangla Road while waiting the driver-san to pick us to the lady-boys and HARIMAUS' show.

After all the shows, we strolled around Bangla road to check out the night life.

Besides pubs and discos, there are a lot of stalls selling souvenirs, slippers, bags and clothes too.. Tourists must know how to bargain with them.

I'm kinda missed the sweet and fun time in Phuket even I'm already to back to Malaysia for few weeks...

nyny & ff's Extraordinary Excursion to Phuket

It's been a while that I didn't travel out from Malaysia since my HK conference in February.

As a reward for my master completion, mr. smiley had bought a travel deal from Groupon AGAIN for breakaway in Phuket. It's a 4 days 3 nights stay in Phuket together with the returned flight ticket by a 5 stars airline, Qatar.

Both of us were super excited one day before departure. mr. smiley even took a day off from his work just to pack his luggage.

Look at our happy face when we arrived at KLIA. (12p.m. day 1)

Everything was smooth when we checked in. I was wondering why the queue at Qatar check in counter was very long and colorful. After asking around, I've gotten to know that all banks from Malaysia had won a prize in an international competition. The prize is inclusive of 4 days 3 nights stay in Phuket. They are grouped under different banks such as Maybank, Ambank, CIMB bank etc. Those who joined the trip are usually the TAI LAP YEHs (people from the high management).

I thought the journey to Phuket would be smooth as we were sharing flight with the 'ONG' people since they are working in money industry.

It's raining cats and dogs that day. The sky was dark.

The flight to Phuket should be departed at 320pm. However, the cabin crew which was sitting next to us at the boarding gate took their luggage and went away when the clock showed 315p.m. All passengers had no idea what's happening and there wasn't any updates from Qatar about the delay. Some of the passengers said the flight was delayed to 720p.m., so we waited.

This is how we looked like at 5p.m. Starving, thirsty and exhausted... Handphones and Ipod all tarak battery...

As compensation, Qatar crew started distributing refreshment vouchers at 6p.m. It's a voucher of Burger King. The crew asked us to eat fast so that we could be on time for the next flight at 8. The passengers including fred and I were like hungry ghost rushing to the BK counter. susahnya...

We returned to the gate after our dinner and waited again. I didn't see any sign of Qatar planes landing or taking off that day. I knew something was wrong yet the ground crew said there's no updates from the Qatar management.

Finally, the ground crew announced that the flight to Phuket was canceled at 830p.m. And, they would send us to the nearest hotel until further notice. The crowd was noisy and not under control. The passengers were spilted into different groups and we were sent to Putrajaya Marriot hotel.

This is fred when he collected our luggage before we were sent to Putrajaya Marriot hotel.

That was my FIRST TIME experiencing flight cancellation. SUPER SAD... one day gone..
mr. smiley didn't smile liao...

The coach which was supposed to send us to Marriott was delayed again.
It's already 1020p.m. when we reached our destination.

The rooms for the passengers were not ready so the crew asked us to have our buffet dinner while waiting for the room assignment.

That was the happiest part of our day 1 trip. Finally mr. smiley smiled. ;)

Each passenger is allocated a single room. I takut hantu so I shared a double room with mr. smiley.

We had a sleepless night that day. Everything was uncertain and there wasn't any feedback from Qatar about the flight.
The person in charge just said, "Please go to sleep. Everything will be alright tomorrow. Confirmation will be sent out at 10am".

We woke up early the next morning for the breakfast and waited for the updates. Some of the TAI LAP YEHs were sent to LCCT to depart to Phuket via AA. But the SAI LAP YEHs like us had to stay in Marriott until further notice.

So, balik room and waited again.

While we were resting, the tour guide of the bank groups called us and asked us to pack fast to rush for the flight to Phuket, transiting at Singapore. We had 1 hour left so everyone was rushing and running again...

Yeah, finally can go Phuket liao..

We thought the drama would stop at that moment but it didn't...
In the coach, the tour guide told us joke that she missed flight at Singapore airport because the ground crew @Changi is super strict.
I personally don't think it is funny.

Our SriLankan flight to Singapore was delayed AGAIN!

Therefore, the arrival at Singapore was delayed and there was only 5 minutes left to issue transit boarding pass to us (70 SAI LAP YEHs).

Needless to say, we could not make it. We were stranded at Singapore airport. No check out.. sat there until further notice AGAIN.

Some of the passengers had given up, some wanna stay in Singapore, some said they wanna go home, some slept on the couch... There was a flight to Phuket from Singapore at 635p.m. but only 2 seats left.

mr. smiley and I thought we could fly without the ONG people but SUPER UNFORTUNATELY, our luggage are tagged with the bank people!

We could not fly unless they check out at Singapore or we say bye bye to our luggage. DILEMMA! nyny already feel like crying at that time.

Out of the blue, the Qatar crew said there was a SIA flight back to Malaysia. We have 20 minutes left to proceed to the gate.

nyny & ff were the last of the queue. It's almost time when we got our boarding pass and the boarding gate was super far from the counter.

Both of us had to run like being chased by dogs. I was almost dead when I reached the gate.
So, we flew back to Malaysia.

Dramatic or not? Free return flight to Singapore? Geng chou or not?

When we got back at KLIA, each of us was given a RM40 voucher to have our dinner at the airport.

Nothing else could make us happy except the food @Jalan Alor KLIA.

The food was super delicious too. Perhaps, it's due to the fact that I was starved for 1 day liao..

That night, we took 10p.m. flight to Phuket. The flight was delayed till 11p.m.

Finally, yes finally, we reached our comfy Seeka hotel at 12a.m. local time in Phuket.

An unpleasant experience with D***a Slimming

I'm not a thin girl. Being slim is always my dream.

I gained 20kgs in 4 years after I started my Master Degree. Perhaps, due to the hormone imbalance and study pressure, I always yearn to eat rubbish food. I admitted it.

I thought my dream to have a slim body will become reality when I bought a slimming voucher (RM18) from a famous deal provider.

However, the slimming service didn't turn up well. In contrary, I started to feel depress after I was FORCED to sign up the package.

I know I have no other choices but to accept the fact that I'm such a silly girl. The unpleasant experience made me really sad and depress. The experience is haunting me all the time.

Wanna know what happened?

On 2nd August, I was supposed to go to the Curve for some blogger events. Since the slimming voucher which I've bought must be redeemed in D**** Slimming The Curve, I decided to have my TRIAL on the day too. When I called, the receptionists were so friendly and kind, they didn't sound like someone who is going to harm you. They told me that the session would take about 1 and 1/2 hours. Therefore, I told them I would start the session at 6pm since my event would start at 830pm.

I reached there at 545pm, thinking that I might had my treatment earlier. The consultants there were super friendly. They seated me in a room. But, she said something like this, "Aiyo, pity you lah.. if you are slim, you will be prettier than me". I was like.... WTF! She is fugly! Dark and not sexy at all! No one dared to say that I'm not pretty since I know what is ABC. Not long after, a consultant came in and asked me to take off my clothes in the room. I was a bit shocked but I still did it as she said since she explained she had to look at my body to check my condition.

Well, needless to say, she commented a lot on my body. She said my cellulite level is severe and my body fat is critical. I might have different diseases etc. Yes, what she said was kinda true so I just nodded my head all the time.

The consultation took us about 1 hour. Then I told her that I was in a hurry so she stopped talking. Instead, she said I have to UPGRADE the vouchers to RM500 for the trial (including 5 x contouring and 5 x wrapping) in order to shed my fat away. If not, the treatment of the RM18 service is not so EFFECTIVE.

For me, RM500 is not a big amount and my intention is to lose weight, so I've agreed to take the package. BUT, she did not return the credit card to me even I've signed on the transaction slip. She said she would keep the card for me. (My first mistake) I did not take it back and straight away proceeded to the treatment room.

In overall, the treatment is okay. Then, the same consultant said my fat is super stubborn and asked me to sign up their package. Thinking that my credit card (**oversea bank) has no more extra credits for the package, I gave them my card. Surprisingly, the transaction went through even the package cost exceeds my limit! I was super shocked but I also accepted the package (RM2600 for 10 times) for my stupidity. After I've paid the package using my card, they did not give me any receipt. I was in a hurry so the consultant promised to call me the next day.

She did not call. I was a bit worried as I did not get anything from them, but my credit card transaction slip. I called them and made an appointment for the 1st treatment on Friday (5th August) to see the same consultant. At the same time, the 'loan sharks' from the bank already called me 3 times a day to urge me to pay the exceeding amount.

I did the 1st session on Friday. My consultant did not turn up that day. Everything was normal until they seated me in the consultation room. They said I have to top up my package as my body fat is serious. 10 session is not enough for me. So, they asked me to top up. Again, (my second mistake) thinking that my credit card already exceeding limits (I haven't paid the balance yet), I gave them my card and asked them to put some deposit (RM500) to hold the package (without charging me, just purely hold it). She said okay. AIH! I thought it will not go through but it still went through~!!! Finally, the consultant gave me 4 transaction slips on the table and asked me to sign.

That was the craziest part! I asked them to swipe only RM500 but they tried RM50, RM100, RM100 and RM1000 WITHOUT MY CONSENT! You know what? Bank told me that they even attempted to swipe RM2500 but the transaction was rejected so they tried with 50,100,100 and finally 1000. WTF is that? I was pissed off and asked them to void the sales but they refused to do it. They locked me in the room and hold my credit card. Many DIFFERENT consultants went into the room to persuade me to sign on the slips.

My mistake again! After fighting with them for 40 minutes, I surrendered. They only void the slips with small amount but not the one with RM1000. It's really mind torturing! I did not know how to describe my feeling at that time. The branch manager said she will return a cheque to me if the bank asked me for the amount. On the spot, I received the SMS from bank telling me that I have to pay the exceeding amount to avoid disruption.

That night, I called bank and wanted to cancel the sales but bank said I couldn't. The only way was to go back to the merchant. I did not sleep that night...

The next day, I told mr. smiley everything and we went back to the merchant together to ask for FULL refund. The branch manager had agreed to pay me back RM1000 and counter offered us with RM2600 for 20 treatments. The usual price is RM5200. I did not take the offer as I already not happy with their unethical business attitude. I insisted for full refund. Finally, the branch manager agreed to return me the RM1000 and counter offered me with the 20 times slimming sessions. I still did not take the offer...

Until today, I did not get any updates from them. I call them everyday like a loan shark but they keep on telling me that the cheque is still under processing.

I hope the readers of my blog will spread this news to your friends and family in order to minimize the number of victims in such case. As I know, there are already N victims who had similar experience like mine.

:D I used my first coupon which was purchased from Mydeal in a restaurant called The Meat Experts (TME). Good things are to be shared. I never eat alone without my piggies and doggies buddies. As the Chinese saying, "独吃难肥。。。" I am always FAT since I love to share good food with my friends and family.

TME is located at ground floor of Hartamas Shopping Complex. It can be easily recognized by the fresh frozen red meats and sausages, various of colorful cheeses, ridiculously delicious and intoxicating wines and of course the porky dishes!

You will definitely like TME if you love pork! My favorite dish in TME is the roasted pork (Siu-Yuk). It's the best if you eat it with a fine wine.

I always want to make my blog cute and unique but I'm not good at blog design.

Usually, I just download some blog templates from the internet and upload it in my blog. Sometimes, my readers will notice some other blogs with similar template as we used the same method to beautify our blog.

Buying a New House in Malaysia

Recently, I just purchased the second properties of my life, a town house.

It's the best birthday gift from dad ever!

That's the show unit!

Well. that's the backyard. Next time I can play with dog dog there already!

It's a spontaneous decision. I've decided to pay the lot booking fee to reserve my future house in one day time.

It was a cozy Sunday. After accompanying family to view a few show units for my sister, I've 'accidentally' fall in love with the townhouse in Odora Parkhomes, Sierra 16.

After discussed with dad about my decision, we paid the booking fees the next day. I still remembered I was super occupied with my Master degree work completion and thesis writing. Without considering much, I just paid few k. *PK JOR LAH*

The procedures to buy a house is not easy. You have to go through developer, lawyers, bankers and etc.

The procedures of buying a house are summarized as below:
1) Pay booking fees to reserve the desired unit
2) You have to approach the bankers (preferable panel banks) to apply for different loan packages

To apply for house loan, you have to prepare some documents such as:

photocopy of IC
3 months pay slips
6 months bank statements showing salary
lot/house booking receipt
EA form
Penyata Kira-kira (can obtain from LHDN)
degree certificate (if you are applying Islamic package)

3) You have to contact the lawyer (preferable panel legal firms) to make appointment to sign SAP
4) Pay the remaining of 10% down-payment
5) Check loan offer letter and do the amendments accordingly to your requirements
5) Sign the loan offer letter with respective banker
6) Sign the loan agreement with respective lawyer
7) Urge the lawyer to prepare your documents so that bank can issue money to the developer on time, to avoid late penalty (usually is 10% of loan amount per annum)

You may apply loan packages with different bank to get the best deal. If I'm not mistaken, they get 0.6% commission of your loan amount. Hence, they are willingly to assist you anytime anywhere.

I've checked the packages with a few panel banks (e.g., Maybank, Alliance, RHB, Hong Leong)

Among these banks, Hong Leong provides the best service (in terms of follow-up services and explanations ) to customers (in my case). The other bankers like to procrastinate and always forget their promise. The RHB one always requires this and that documents. The Maybank one always FFK. Finally, I get Alliance as it offers the best fully-flexi package.

Today, majority of the purchasers are getting fully-flexi loan as it offers full flexibility to them.
Let say the loan amount is RM400k. You deposit RM100k into your flexi account. The bank will set off the interest and recalculate the interest based on the balance (i.e., 400k-100k = 300k). In such a case, the bank will charge interest on RM300k instead of RM400k. Thus, if you are paying more each month, you might settle the loan in an earlier time.

It's advisable to relocate your fixed deposit (FD) to your flexi loan account as the highest interest for FD is 3.1% but bank is charging you BLR-2.4 (i.e., 6.6-2.4=4.2%). It's better to set off the 4.2% rather than earning only 3.1%.

Master Thesis Submission DaY

8.7.2011 (Friday) is one of the most meaningful day in my life!

Got first prize in lottery? Picked RM1000 on the street?

No! This is the day I submitted my master thesis! This is a very important for me as it's the day I gain independence from my supervisors and university. O le le O la la ! MERDEKA MERDEKA! Last year this time, I washed my face with tears every day.

Why?

The stupid MMU intended to terminate my master studies last year this time. That time, I just got some 'good' results for my research after N times of failures. Whatever that I did in my first and second year were failures. I couldn't even include it in my thesis. And when I got some results and just started to write a conference paper, the university sent me a notice saying that they wanted to terminate my master candidature and tutorship. I was on the hot soup and searched for all deans and vice presidents to extend my studies. At that moment, my family was having some problems too. The day was so grey.. I've tried to jump from building for few times.. As I couldn't bear the stress from my studies and family... Fortunately, god answered my prayers. One of the directors of board of postgraduate studies suggested to extend ma studies for one year!

Whatever... Now, I'm free like a bird!

Ma theses are sent to Spain and University of Malaya. Hopefully after 3 months, there will be no major rework. :)

So kawan-kawan sekalian, don't forget to ajak me out oh! :D

i. Tema FLORIA 2011 ialah “Mawar Untuk Selamanya” (Roses Are Forever) di mana bunga mawar (rose) dipilih sebagai bunga tema festival serta diadun dan disusun dengan kreatif di dalam suasana landskap dan taman.

ii. Penetapan tema dan bunga mawar bagi FLORIA 2011 menggambarkan bahawa negara kita kaya dengan spesis tumbuh-tumbuhan berbunga.

i. Pameran terbesar bunga mawar yang pernah dipamerkan di Malaysia dalam suasana taman dengan melibatkan koleksi melebihi 60 varieti dan kultivar bunga mawar.

Despite the recent disaster which happened in Japan, Japanese restaurant is still the all-time favourite of my family members. Even the old grandma also adores cooked Japanese food so much that we usually have our gathering at one of the traditional Japanese fine-dining restaurants, Yokotaya at Metro Perdana.

What so special about this restaurant until my anti-foreign-food popo also like it?

#1 The taste

The first in the list is definitely the taste of the food. Unlike Sushi Zanmai, Rakuzen, etc, the Japanese cuisine which is served in Yokotaya is unique. The food served is the fusion of some of the local delights and the traditional Japanese recipe. The outcome is superb. Besides, the sashimi in Yokotaya is definitely fresh and very enjoyable, that alone is enough to make you a joyful person. It definitely worth the price you pay for. Yokotaya is the best as it offers a variety of choices for a variety of needs.

You feel tempted by just looking at the rice, right?

#2 The design and atmosphere of the restaurant

Not to exaggerate, Yokotaya is absolutely one of the best places for fine dining after the hectic working day. It is apparent that the owner of the restaurant had put a lot of effort and time in designing the interior to make the customers feel homely. The interior of the restaurant is quite appealing. It’s a modern restaurant with cosy ambiance, wooden tables and chairs, dim lights, and with few tatami-style seating. The most outstanding part is the rows of empty sake bottles lined on the shelves on the wall. There is a VIP room for private function too. It’s a place highly recommended for the all occasions.

#3 The service

Just like the Japanese, the staffs in Yokotaya are friendly and polite. Their hospitality makes you feel like you are the king and queen of the day; even you had a bad day in work/school. The main chef is always shy and quiet as he is a Nihonjin, while the Malaysian lady boss (ma leng leng cousin) is very friendly. I assure that you will have a pleasant experience dining in Yokotaya. Not to mention the handsome servicing manager, Josa, a polite and responsive staff.

In the recent years, the children around us have become more and more mature, they are already not as naive as how we were during our childhood. Sometimes, we cannot imagine what they know and what they are thinking. Perhaps, it's due to the rich ingredient of the milk powder that they consume during their infancy stage.

I'm a part time tuition teacher. So, I deal with the EVIL kids during my weekends. It's funny and scary at the same time when you listen to their conversation.

Last Saturday, I had to fetch my cousin brother home after his tuition session with me. Grandma was with us in the car too.

This fella, he saw one of the pillows in my car, which shows the logo of the movie The Ugly Truth, which was shown in the cinema few months ago.

The logo is showing a heart at a woman's head and a heart at man's private part. Then, the curious little fella asked grandma and I something really shocking...

Cousin brother : Jiejie, why the hearts are at the different places on a woman and a man? It shows a heart at woman's head and another one at a man's important organ? Does that means that a guy likes the woman's head and a woman likes the man's private organ?

Reading blogs is part of my daily life.

The very first thing I do after I reach my office or after I wake up during weekends is on my laptop and start reading blogs. *Shhh Don't tell my supervisors about that! They will kill me for not doing research!*

Whenever I feel happy or sad, I'd like to write it down on my blog. nynyberry.blogspot.com is like my life journal. I feel happy when I reread the old posts. Sometimes, it's great to look at the old pictures which make me mesmerizing the old time I was having fun with my beloved friends and family.

The blogging journey started with a post introducing myself and how I got my nickname, nynyberry.

V Day Dinner @ La Bodega Bangsar

It's been a while that I did not update my blog.

Finally I got the time to upload my photos on V day.

That day, mr. smiley and I celebrated our 2nd V day at La Bodega, Bangsar.

I'm always yearning to taste the Spanish food since I returned from a trip to Pamplona, Spain in year 2008. I occasionally dream about the Paella, Tapas, Sangria and of course the Tiramisu! I can't wait to fly back there to eat those superyummylicious food!!!

I'm madly in love with the Spanish food. So, my angel Mr. smiley had granted my wish and brought me to a famous Spanish Restaurant somewhere in Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar.

Magnum Lucky Lou Sang

On the 10th day of Chinese New Year, Yann, Daniel, Fen, Fred and I were honour to be invited by Magnum Corporation Sdn. Bhd to witness the Magnum Live Draw followed by a lou sang session @Oversea restaurant.

The event started at 6pm where all the attendees had to register themselves so that they will be selected as one of the drum starters during the 4D draw.

At first, I was surprised that there are many uncles aunties gathering at the ticketing area of Wisma Magnum. After I've asked around, I got to know that they were waiting to be the drum starter of the day.

What is a drum starter? I did not know what is it until I went into the special draw room, where 23 numbers (10 consolation prizes, 10 special prized and 3 grand prizes) will be randomly rolled by the drum starters and are picked as the auspicious numbers of the day.

I had never thought of becoming part of the 'gambling' committees. That day was the first time I bought a 4D number in my whole life. Perhaps, that's the moment that I started my 'lan dou guai' life. However, buying 4D will never make someone bankrupt as compared to playing with chips in the casino. Usually, the public will buy their lucky numbers when they feel that they are lucky. For instance, magnum 4D will reward my mum once in every 3-4 months for her loyalty support. Yea, she is a lucky woman.

After we 'invested' on our lucky numbers, we were brought into a special room with 16 attached CCTV. The public or even the chairman of magnum is not allowed to enter the room without the companion of the 'draw' committee.

Fred was praying so hard that he would be elected as the drum starter. At last, he was picked but he did not choose the right card. Instead, he was given an ang pao. Not bad thou.

The purpose of the event is to give the magnum committee an opportunity to interact with the young generation especially the media and blogger. Thus, the 'young' people like 'me' will share the information online through blogs, twitter, face book and etc.

The marketing director of Magnum Corporation was giving a briefing on the process of live draw. She is a sporting and friendly woman. At the back is Chi Ming. I used to see him in all the events which were organized by Magnum.

According to the committees, there are 30 sets of number balls and 12 sets of alphabets balls. All the balls are x-ray, weighted and are imported from France. The sets will be changed in every draw. The committee from Magnum, an auditors and people from Ministry of Finance have to be at the draw room during all the draw. 3 lucky drum starters will be chosen to draw for 23 numbers.

Break Free @ Asian Water Sports Village

It was the first day of year 2011.

A bunch of good ~~monkeys~~ friends from all around Klang Valley had gathered at Taman Tasik Prima for a break free.

Of course, the head of the ~~troop~~ gang is nY.

It would be my first time participating in water sports together with my heng dais and ji muis.

The place is Asian Water Sports Village. It's considered quite new and not opened to public yet. I have the chance to know about this exciting place through a brochure which was clipped on my car wind screen in MMU few months back.

We were staying in a multi-award winning Interior designer villa. I'm not cheating. Let me show you some of the shots of the villa.

No words can describe the beauty of this place. Besides the luxury villa, Asian Water Sports Village also provides different facilities to the visitors.

You can try to dip your Hong Kong legs into the fish spa pond. You also can cycling. If you are a patient people, you can fish there of you have the fishing rod. BBQ pits with lava rocks are provided too. When you are tired, jump into the jacuzzi pool or steam yourself in the sauna room. The main activities are the water sports such as jet-ski, banana boats, kayaking and S-P-E-E-D boat!

Among all these, I love the speed boat the most. You can opt for 2-people boat, 4-people boat or the long long banana boat. It's my first time half-drown in the lake after our speed boat over-turned.

YES, you read me right. Our 4-people-too-fast-too-furious speed boat over-turned and my little brother was thrown to the middle of the lake. Before I knew it, JC, CA and I sank into the lake after the boat COVERED us.

I will never forget the feeling. It's like my life is going to end at that moment.
BUT, IT WAS SUPER FUN LEH!

No excessive noise is allowed after 10pm.

So, we were forced to play Wii, watched HK shows and of course got ourselves drunken.

I really had lots of fun in this village.

It's highly recommended for people who loves water and exciting sports.

I'm going back to that place in coming March with another gang of monkeys.

Formula Drift Malaysia

Well, I'm not a drift fans. I only got to know about drifting when I watched Initial D when I was young. Yea, that's Akina!

One lazy afternoon, Daniel asked me to answer a short question in twitter and I've won a pair of tickets to watch the 2010 Goodyear Formula Drift Malaysia.

I've gotten the chance to witness the final round of the Formula Drift Asia series for 2010 which was held on 19 December at Dataran Merdeka. Drifters from ASEAN, Japan,China, Hong Kong and New Zealand were competing for the champion on Sunday. That's when I knew Tengku Djan, Ming Hui, Ryuji Miki, Kokae, Saito and etc.

It was darn crowded that day. There are many ~~hamsup~~ professional photographers around busy taking the sexy photos of those umbrella GT girls.

When I walked about the drifting track, Malaysian driver Meng Hui was competing with his competitors, Rifat. The sad thing was when everyone was cheering loudly for him, his car hit the kerb at the U-turn. Therefore, his car suffered some serious suspension-arm damage. The damage is too serious until he has to abort. Malaysians' hopes are turned into bubble when Rifat went through.

This is the picture before Ser Meng Hui a.k.a. Ah Fai's car hit the 'benteng'. Frankly, he is super cool even he did not go through!

My favourite part of the drifting was the competition for the champion between Kokae (Thailand) and Saito (Japan). Kokae leaded in the first run but sadly he lost drift at the second run. He tried to reinitiate a drift to chase Saito but instead he spins out. The spinning caused super thick smoke. X( So at the end, Saito won the final!

The experience of watching real drifting instead of Dytona is fascinating. It made you feel like learning drifting ("pui-yi") . It's not just purely "lailai shou jai"! A professional drifters must practise hard to make a beautiful and perfect drift. The scene was magnificent when both cars were aligned perfectly when the drifters were performing the drift.

This year, Djan made the Malaysian crowd proud by taking the overall championship. YEA, MALAYSIA BOLEH DRIFT! I believe there will be more Mat Rempits/illegal drifters on the way.

Christmas is coming!

nY is very happy. I'm transforming to elf at night to wrap presents for Santa.

This is my Christmas corner. Is it pretty? It's Kinkin's favourite hangout place too.

I wish I get many many pressies and all my dreams come true in the coming year! I'm not greedy! I also wish that all my beloved friends have a Merry Xmas and prosperous new year!

A researcher's life

I personally think that academicians cum researchers' life is boring, not routined and without discipline.We usually eat at odd hours to skip the jam and crowd(that's why I have gastric), we sleep when people are working(it's easy to concentrate when the surrounding is quite), we watch movies on Wednesday (it's movie day) and we have many holidays (follow university holiday).

All these are the good things you can see from our surface. If you look deep in, our life is dull. If it's not under control, you will become super lazy pig. Perhaps, that is one of the reasons I cannot complete my master on time because I always like to procrastinate(FEW YEARS BACK!!!). I started to change my lifestyle after MMU threatened to terminate my candidature in July. Ever since, I work hard even during weekends.

We always talk crap and we are good in 'goreng'. XD This is the skill we have to master to write a good paper/manuscript and even teach in a class. Therefore, we definitely need to have good English writing and communication skill .

When we are free, we always come out with some weird and not-necessary productive idea. If you watch the movie "The Social Networks", you can related Mark as one of the nerdy researchers. During my 3 years here in MMU, I've learned Java, C, Matlab, Perl, NS2 and Qualnet in order to complete my master. Previously, I got B+ for my programming and I despised it so much. But now, I'm a programming teacher in MMU.

Many people asked me when will I graduate... But, honestly speaking, I do not know when. I just knew it's a never-ending journey. Everyday, I read IEEE conference papers and journals... think how to come out with new algorithm for my channel assignments... figure out how to beat others' work... master new programming language for my simulations... this is what I'm doing daily.
Currently, I have to come out with another new algorithm for my IEEE journal. Oh god!

Let's pray for me. I'm working really hard to walk to the end. I must hold on!

Peter Pan is coming to Town!

Peter Pan - a familiar name to some of us. To me, he is one of the cartoon characters who fantasized me to learn how to fly when I was young. XD

Thanks to YihYann and Malaysian Blogger, I had the opportunity to witness the first live Peter Pan musical show, Discovering Neverland in conjunction with Christmas season on 26th November at Sunway Lagoon amphitheater. Woot! Sunway Lagoon had brought Peter Pan live in the amphitheater from 26th November till 2nd January during this school holiday!

With much anticipation, nY couldn't wait to see my childhood idols, Peter Pan, Wendy and of course the creature that made 'tuk tuk tuk' sound - the crocodile. It's the hero which got Captain Hook his name.

Some people do really have not idea who Peter Pan is. Therefore, it's a must to watch the stage musical show to bring back some childhood memories. It's a good way to free ourselves from the hustle and bustle of the city too. I felt warm when the cast members sing Christmas carols. I didn't realize it's already end of the year until they sang "White Christmas".

OMG! I'm so BLUR!

I was diagnosed with food poisoning on the day I returned from Jogjakarta. The GENG thing is right after I left on my flight, Gunung Merapi erupted. I am considered lucky in this case.

Before I boarded AirAsia, I already vomited non-stop the day before. I just attempted to eat the Indon road-side hawker ONCE (YA! SATU KALI), then I kena KUAT-KUAT already. Today is the 3rd day after I returned. Yet, I'm still lau-saing. Whatever go into my mouth, it will come out through my mouth or in a form of liquid sai! :( I DID NOT EAT SOLID FOOD FOR 3 DAYS ALREADY!

The blur case was.... Yesterday, I went to class, sat there and waited for students.

Students came on time. There are 30 names in my attendance list but only 7 turned up. Those who turned up were the resit students. I was wondering how come all the good students whom I know skipped my class but the resit students came! But, I still performed my duties and taught the tutorial accordingly.

Today, I do the same thing. I went to the class, sat there and waited for students. The weird thing... no one came at all! I was thinking, "What the hell! Where have all the students gone!??"

After I've waited for 15 minutes, I returned office and re-checked my timetable. It's correct. No problem ark! Then, I checked the student bulletin...

The fact is the subject coordinator has canceled all the tutorial classes for this week. I'm not aware of that at all! No emails at all!

How to install HTC Clock (Fancy Widget) to Samsung Galaxy S

I'm officially a Samsung Galaxy S i9000/~~kuku~~ google phone user since July! I have always yearned to have a google phone when I saw my colleagues with their Nexus One/HTC! The phone is actually my birthday pressie from siblings and fred. Overall, everything is superb except the battery power.

After using it for sometimes, I already started to feel boring looking at the main screen. So, nY decided to transform it into a FAKE HTC phone. :D

In order to make Samsung Galaxy S to be like a HTC phone, you must first install the HTC clock.

It's easy to install the application. It will just take you about 5-10 minutes depends on your data plan / Wi-fi connection.

The steps to install the Fancy Widget are as following:
#1 Download the .apk file from this link http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XQSUR4RK using your Galaxy
#2 Install the application after the download is completed
#3 Go to Setting
#4 Go to Location and Security
#5 Uncheck the use wireless networks
#6 Add Fancy Widget to your main screen
#7 Tadah! You are done!

If you skip steps 3-5, you will not see the weather and the your current location.

Drive Thru Car Wash

It seems like ages that I did not bathe my Nissan Latio Jai. It's body already turned from metallic silver to SOLID dusty grey.

After facing the 'music' from daddy, both my sis and I had to bring our cars for a thorough wash.

It's our first visit to car wash expert. When I drove my car into the workshop, the foreign workers were so excited that they knocked on my window. They 'excitedly' directed me to the correct path for 'drive thru car wash'.

I'm not aware of the existence of this car wash workshop until my dad brought us there.

There are around 20 workers in the work area. Each worker knows their responsibility and location. They work systematically.

In order to get a proper car wash and waxing, you have to drive your car according to the designated path. The process of getting car wash is similar to the process of taking shower.

#1 Drive thru car wash
One of the workers will splash water on your car to wet its body.
The second person-in-charge standing at his location will start rubbing soap on the body of the car including the wind screen.

Wuu...I love drive thru car wash! Latio jai sai bak bak!

Then, one of them will apply some soap on the tyres.
Finally, 2 of the staff will splash water on the body of the car again to rinse off the bubble soap .

It's fun having drive thru car wash in that way. It's a little different with the automatic car wash at petrol stations. It's fun seeing rain when it is not a rainy day.

After car wash, you must drive your car to the vacuuming area where the experts will vacuum and wipe your car. There are many high-tech equipment which I had never seen before in my life. Besides wiping the body, they apply some coating on the tyres to make them bling bling as well!

#3 Treatment (Waxing and Polish)
Lastly, you have to drive your car under the canopy for treatment. Just like what humans have for hair treatment, there are various types of car treatment packages. For examples, they are offering car light polish (RM40), one-layered car polish (RM80), four-layered car waxing and polish (RM160) and etc. I picked the most expensive package because it has the most treatments (polish, serum). The banglas will put Wasabi, mayonnaise, strawberry jam and serum on the car.

The whole process took us around 2 hours.
